Handmade Scrunchie

Handmade by the wonderful Nichole, owner of Simply Hooked. She is a Dine mama and crocheter. I included the scruchies because I always tie my hair up when I’m knitting or working. Navajo’s believe that your hair is your wisdom, so tying your hair up means that you are collecting your thoughts. The fabric used is referred to as Masani(Grandmother) scarf which is what our female elders wrap their hair with.
