Hi there, I’m Jen!

As a Navajo woman (or asdzáán in my native language), my heritage is deeply interwoven into my identity. Growing up on the reservation in Arizona, I was raised by an incredibly strong family and now living in New Mexico, I am on the path of raising my beautiful children to know their culture.

As I became obsessed with knitting over the past couple years, I felt naturally drawn to incorporating native designs into patterns I created. Textiles are an integral part of Navajo artistry and knitting felt like a way to share the beauty of my culture’s designs!

I’m here to create an inclusive community for anyone who shares my passion for knitting and supporting native culture.

About my Culture and Heritage

In American culture, my tribe is referred to as Navajo. In our native language, we refer to ourselves as Diné and break down our heritage even more, proudly tracking through family clans. Honoghaahnii nishłį́, Bilagáana bashishchiin, Tachii’nii dashicheii and Besh bécha he’ dashinanlí are the people I belong to and my ancestry.
